Democrat for State Representative: 182nd District of Pennsylvania
I was born in Philadelphia and raised by middleclass small business owners. I've been engaged in public service for more than a decade, starting in college when I organized and executed successful lobbying efforts to get more state funding for my school. After graduation, I took a job as a stock trader. I studied the habits of the most successful traders at my company. I made their strengths my strengths and as a result, I was interviewed by the financial publication Kiplinger's Magazine as a leader amongst my peers. I was quite successful as a stock trader, but I chose to leave Wall Street early in my professional life to pursue my passion for public service and to strengthen the Democratic Party.
I moved to Mobile, Alabama to work on the first of many campaigns to get good Democrats elected. I was fortunate to work with influential leaders around the country, build diverse coalitions, and I leveraged this experience to generate creative and resourceful solutions for campaigns and communities alike.
While it was exciting to help others find their voice to become better advocates for their hometown communities, I knew that there was a great deal of work to be done in my hometown. I moved back home to Philadelphia after the 2006 Election Cycle and immediately got involved. I worked or volunteered for several campaigns in Philadelphia, including races for City Council, State Senate, District Attorney, and Controller. And I was proud to be appointed a Committee Person in the 8th Ward. I now believe the best way to make an impact for our community is by lending my skill-set and work ethic as a strong and effective voice in Harrisburg.
